BRIEF HISTORY
Bishop comes from a possible future where mutants rule the
earth. There he was part of a radical police force that
established order despite chaos. He was accidentally brought
to the present by a gateway of Fitzroy, while attempting to
recapture the villain, but Bishop's two companions, Malcom &
Randall, died at the hands of Fitzroy and his outlaws. Bishop
was then taken to Xavier by the X-Men.
Since his future is not quite pleasant, he's always alert and shows an excess of violence most times, although his life with the X-Men seems to have controlled him a bit. His mutant power consists of absorbing any type of energy and use it back against a target. It is known that Bishop killed his sister, Shard, in the future, because she had turned into an Emplate. He knew that the only way to save her was to turn her into a hologram with her brain waves. She died in the process from Bishop absorbing the energy that was exploding out of her. His reason for saying that he was too late to save Shard was because the Emplates got her within minutes of his rescue party.
In Bishop's future, both of them joined the mutant police,
but Shard was the one to get promoted, since Bishop didn't want
to miss out on the action and not be in the streets that were
his first home; he also had something of an attitude problem.
Shard is now back as a living hologram in the X-Factor team.
Note : In the future from where he comes, all the X-Men died victims of a traitor who turned out to be Xavier, Onslaught.
An unconfirmed rumor concerning Bishop is that he is Monet
St. Croix's grandson.
