Battlelines

Captains log; stardate 510045.3. We have begun long-range scans of all Gamma Quadrant systems. Anika has told us that she heard Borg near the Kol system, and Captain Picard has also has heard Borg near that area. The fleet has altered course to the Kol system, but it is right next to Dominion territory and a patrol would undoubtedly alter course to intercept the fleet.

Three Jem'Hadar warships had finished scans of Kol system, when suddenly they picked up a large plasma residue trace and altered course to follow it at maximum warp. Three Borg torpedoes finished the ships quickly and the Borg Cube continued on it's current flight path.

"Captain, I am picking up a large area of debris entering visual range," Data reported from the con.

"On screen," Picard replied. Debris floated slowly before Picard's eyes. He could make out a few lifeforms floating with the wreckage, and few power signatures. "Magnify." He could clearly see now dead Jem'Hadar, and three Vorta; also dead.

"Long-range scans have detected two hundred starships approaching at warp eight," Data said. "Entering visual range."

"On screen." Picard could dimly see shapes moving toward them. "Magnify." Two hundred ships sped toward the fleet.

"A Jem'Hadar ship is hailing us," Dax reported.

"On screen." Sisko ordered. A Vorta appeared on the screen.

"Captain Sisko, how pleasant to see you again!" Weyoun crooned.

"Make it brief Weyoun," Sisko demanded.

"Alright, alright. No need for such violence, Captain Sisko. We have found a large plasma residue trace and have read a subspace turbulence near the Kol system. We know that none of your ships could emit such a large residue trace. We suspect that a very large ship has begun invading Dominion space. We think it is the Borg."

"Replay from time index 0:01:01. As you can see the large square object moving toward the ships then a three flashes then the ships were destroyed," Weyoun told Janeway, Sisko, Picard, Welles, Dexter, Derrick, and Simkins.

"We have compared it to the data from Deep Space Nine and it does have the exact same configuration that the Borg Cube that attacked the station," Dexter said.

"We propose a temporary alliance with Starfleet to destroy the Borg Cube. We will need some assistance in upgrading our weapons," Weyoun said.

"Not so fast. we will fight the Borg together, but we will not upgrade your weapons in any way. You should set your weapons to modulating frequencies, but we will not let you have quantum torpedoes or upgraded phasers," Derrick replied.

"Agreed. We will prepare in three hours," Weyoun told them.

The fleet of Dominion/Starfleet ships went to warp speed, found the Borg ship and altered course. The Borg Cube detected the Founders planet and immediatly altered course to assimilate the planet. (the founder's must be assimilated).

The Borg Cube prepared to beam down Borg to the planet when four quantum torpedoes flew threw space to blow a gaping hole in the Borg Cube. The Borg Cube spun around to engage the new threat. Jem'Hadar squads began attack runs The Galaxy quickly tried to blast the main Borg tractor beam but was showered with a withering hail of torpedoes and Borg beams.The Galaxy was quickly destroyed. The Defiant and Valiant zipped in and succesfully destroyed it with a dozen phaser blasts. The Soveriegn launched twenty quantum torpedoes and blew out the Borg bridge. The Borg launched a sphere and beamed down all other living borg counting two hundred.The sphere went to Borg space but the Borg on the planet began assimilating it.

"Beam us down to the planet surface," Sisko ordered the Chief.

"Aye, sir," O'Brien responded. Sisko, Picard, Data, Worf, Dax, Kira, Janeway, Tuvok, Kim, Paris, Anika, Chakotay, and Riker beamed down, all armed with advanced phaser rifles and hand phasers with a chip that changes a phaser's beam after every shot. Three Borg advanced on the away team. Three phaser blasts silenced them. One hundred ninety-seven Borg faced the away team and were placed in stasis chambers on the Borg Cube that was saved miraculously by Geordi's skills. They were unassimilated, and Chakotay used his past experience with the Borg to use them to create a skeletal crew for the cube.

Captains log, Stardate 510060.3 The crew of the Borg Cube has been recuperating and we need to get it operational so that Starfleet can study the Borg cube and technology. But I know that we will eventually face the Borg again. But I know another thing. That we will prevail. We will not fail to stop the Borg.
