Steve stood dumbfounded in front of Norman. 'Had he just
been asked out on a date by another man?' "Um, I would love to, Norman, but I have a previous
engagement this evening. Perhaps another night?" Steve
managed to say finally. "Well, all right." Norman agreed. "What about tomorrow?
We can have dinner as well." Norman was proud of the courage
he was showing actually asking a woman as pretty as this one
out on a date. Wouldn't his mother be proud of him. "That would be lovely Norman. Can I call you tomorrow and
let you know? I mean my schedule is a bit busy right now and
I'm not sure that I'll be able to get away." Steve was
frantically trying to figure out a way to get out of this
date with Norman. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see
Jesse laughing hysterically. "Sure. Here's my card with my number on it. Call
anytime." Norman handed Steve one of his cards. "Until we
meet again." Norman bowed slightly and then walked into the
nearby, open elevator. Once the doors closed, Steve walked over to Jesse, and
stood in front of the young man, impatiently waiting for him
to stop laughing. "And what's so funny?" "You. Norman. On a date!" Jesse replied between gales of
laughter. "I'm sorry, Steve, but look at it from my point of
view. It is rather funny if you think about it." "In that case, maybe I should introduce him to Jessica
and see what he thinks of her!" Steve threatened. "Alright, alright." Jesse said as he tried to stop
laughing. "Not a word about this to anyone." Steve said to him.
"I'm going home to change clothes and relax. You coming by
later?" "As soon as my shift if over, I'll be there." Jesse
replied. Steve turned and walked out, anxious to get home and
change into a man again.Once he was home, he quickly changed into jeans, T-shirt
and running shoes after washing off his makeup and hanging up
his suit. He grabbed a beer out of the fridge and went up to
see what was going on with his father. "Ah, there's Steve now." Jack teased from the couch. "Or
should I say Stephanie!" "Give it a rest Jack. I'm not in the mood." Steve told
him. "Did you find out anything?" "Yeah," Jack answered. "Turns out that Carter and Felix
went to the same college at the same time. But," Jack pointed
out. "Carter was expelled for misconduct the last year. The
records don't say what, but I did some asking around and
found out that he had a tendency to dress up as a woman and
hit on some of the guys there. This was after Felix broke up
with him." Mark, who had been silent up until then just looked at
Jack. "He dressed as a woman? Could it be he still is and
that's how he's getting in and out of Chez Felicity?" "Maybe it's one of the women who live there already?"
Jack mentioned the possibility. "Can't be." Steve replied. "We had them all checked out
before going in. It has to be someone else." "Then if that's the case, who is able to come and go as
they please there?" Mark asked. They sat and contemplated the
possibilities.
