Y2k. Many predicted that this would be the end of the world. A couple of weeks later, people in Memphis saw it coming. It snowed. Yes folks, it snowed. A whoppin' 4 inches... the biggest snow fall in almost 9 years, the media said. The city shut down. And I must admit... I didn't go into work. This is a beautiful picture I took of the snow at my apartment building. Snow. The end of the world. So yes, it does occasionally snow in Memphis, Tennessee and yes, it is a harbinger of the end of the world.
And this is the wonderful snowman I built. He melted about 2 days later but hey. I got to build a snowman for the first time in years. Isn't he just cute? Of course I probably won't see a signifigant snowfall for another decade or two unless I leave the fair city of Memphis. Of course it is fun to hear people go hysterical over a little bit of snow, and I'm sure everyone visiting from my NOrthern neighbors will be amused. For more insight, read A Southern Snowfall. It is a story about how people react to a weather forcast of snow. Enjoy!
