Orphaned at an early age, Alria has no memory of her parents. After her parents were killed in a Whitecloak raid, Alria began wandering. When she came to a town, she'd stay until she had the urge to continue her travels. She earned money doing odd chores for innkeepers, helping the women of the town, or doing other odd jobs. She has had rough times in her travels, also. There were times she went to bed with no food. Sometimes, she had no shelter from storms and cold. Most recently, Ali has come from Saldea where Ali heard the rumors of the Tower of Chasaline. The night she heard the rumors, she had a dream. In her dream, her mother stood in a yellow dress with a large building behind her. Her father stood slightly behind Ali's mother and held a sword. Ali took a close look at that sword and saw a heron carved into the sword. Ali briefly woke and when she fell back into sleep, she had another dream. In this one, she was the person standing in front of the building. She wore a dress as pure as snow. But there was something about her now. She felt different. Ali woke feeling strange. She had a feeling that she had learned something that she had never known about her parents. She wasn't sure if the dream was just that, a dream, or something more. All Ali knew was that she had to go to Chasaline.

Ali is 5'6" and still growing. Her long, almost black hair has been growing for the majority of her 18 years and now reaches her waist and is usually tied into a braid. She is very strong from her travels and can deal with adversity easily. She has a high tolerance for pain and is comfortable walking long distances and in a saddle. Her tan face shows a self-reliant and determined young lady. Once she sets her mind on a goal, not much can stop her. She is an expert horsewoman and also a good fighter. She is capable of protecting herself and others. She is also incredibly curious about the talents her mother spoke of and to learn to touch The Source.
