Chantal was born to a normal family in a normal community called Cape Cod, Massachussetts. Surrounded by religion and political plays, she grew up easily adapting the feelings of her community toward almost any crucial or controversial topic. When it came to the controversy of mutancy, she followed her most respected religious leader in the matter. Chantal was a good catholic girl, following strictly all the catholic practices that she could. She always felt there was no place in society for mutants. Even at age 14, she felt it was her duty to help save the souls of those poor mutants. And those who did not comply were evil and full of sin.
It was that year that Fiona, Chantal's sister, discovered her ability to move things by the power of her mind. Knowing the strict beliefs of her friends and family in Cape Cod, Fiona attempted to keep such developement a secret. Two years later, Chantal found out about her sister's mutancy. Chantal, at that time a very faithful member of Cape Cod's chapter of FoH, ran quickly at that moment directly to the local parish to tell a priest. This led to Fiona's capture.
Chantal was not totally wicked in this. She had thought she was doing right. However, she soon discovered that a respected member of the community who held his membership with the FoH very secret planned on teaching any mutant a lesson at the next FoH meeting. The things he spoke of made Chan's blood turn cold. She ran straight from there to the police station where Fiona was being held. Unbeknownst to Fiona, Chantal revealed the real reason Fiona was in jail to one of the more honest cops on staff. A morally righteous man, he could not stand for such false charges as shoplifting to hold a mutant against their will. He freed Fiona, never telling her that it was Chan who told him of her situation.
From there, Fiona left town directly. Chantal was able to keep her involvement in Fiona's escape a secret.. for a while. At the meeting, they had found a replacement mutant.. and killed him in a most brutal and inhumane way. Chan became even more withdrawn from FoH activities. Suddenly feeling as if he were doing complete wrong, Chan confronted the leader of the chapter face to face. Informing him that if activities like that didn't cease, she was going to reveal to the media what had happened. Naive 16 year-old Chantal did not know what she was getting into. Officials don't like being threatened.
Chantal ended up having to run for her life. Someone tried to kill her in her own bedroom. At 16, she ran. Ever since then, she's roamed, hitchhiked, anything to keep from dying. Now, at age 22, she's in New York City. Confronted by almost anything the world can throw her, she thought her life was simple now. Eat, sleep, move. For some odd reason, she felt compelled to stay a bit too long in New York City, and she was recognized. While she was under attack in the park, a person she had met on an earlier day, Marcus Lentar, saved her life. Now, she is under Heath Pike and PSI-Tech's watchful eye, awaiting that hopeful day when she won't have to run anymore.
While at Psi-Tech, she has found herself attracted to both her "savior" and his brother, Savin Lentar. Until recently, she knew not their deepest darkest secret. That they are not truely brothers, but exist in the same body (in a sense). Now? She knows.. and she is SO confused.
