Description/History

Myra led a normal life. She was born into a loving lower-middle class family which consisted of her mother, father, and grandfather. Her father worked hard to support his father-in-law and his family. Her mother worked hard, as well. Part-time waitress when Myra was growing up, and then full-time when Myra could take care of herself. Her grandfather was a kind old man. When Myra's mother couldn't watch her, he was there. Though considered somewhat senile at times, he was always a comfort to Myra in bad times.. and a good friend in good times. He died when Myra was 14, and left a box of things to her in his will. However, the box would not open for her.. nor her father or mother. So, the box stayed in the apartment's storage room.

At the age of 15, Myra's mother fell ill. Myra's father, her mother's doctors, nor herself knew what was wrong with her; but the reason her mother was beginning to get ill was because of this. Myra's grandfather was a Hermetic Mage before senility began to creep in. He kept this as a secret from the rest of his family. Mostly, Myra was clueless. Her parents knew a little of what he had been. Her mother knew more than all of them. At one time in the past, her mother was injured badly. Her grandfather made one of the worst decisions of his life. He used dangerous magic to heal her. Much to his chagrin, the spell would not stay put, so he had to recast it on a periodic basis to keep his daughter alive. Upon his death, there was no longer anyone to do so.

Then, with her mother ill, her father had to work 3 jobs to keep the family going strong. Myra offered to get a job, but both her parents protested.. telling her to concentrate on her studies and to gain a scholarship with her good grades. Without a scholarship, Myra would never be able to afford college. Being the dutiful daughter, Myra did was she was told.

Myra has yet to discover of her Mage abilities, and is still a studious High School senior. Her mentor might end up to be Solomon (of the Rare books store).
