Zome
aka modern tinker-toys
Since November, when I purchased a small set of Zome construction struts and balls, Vincent and Kathryn have been playing with them. Last week we received a whole lot more struts and balls (okay, nodes, but they look like balls with bites taken out of them), and they started playing.
Vincent took the plans for a geodesic dome, which both children worked on, and created a large ball with the same structure.
Kathryn and I took the picture on the cover of a double-helix structure and . . . created it. It's standing in the corner of the room because it is so fragile that it would fall apart without some support (and it has some support in any case in the dual sets of triangles on the sides of the central red bars). And, I know, I've posted far too few photographs and stories in the past few months. Life has become busy!.
