A dog creature is on the loose, killing cops. With suspicion falling heavily on Joshua, Max attempts to find who or what is responsible and stop further deaths by any means necessary.
This episode never really seems to take off, merely content to make us suspect Joshua, but not to the extent that any of us really believe he would murder, then give us the real culprit. The greater integration into the series of Alec is good to see, but he serves little function here other than muscle, his smart alec remarks getting lost somewhere along the way. In fact, he's not even much use as muscle at the end of the day, captured way too easily along with Logan and for all his 'super-strength' unable to break down the door of a cage.
While the story of Joshua's brother, Isaac, is quite touching if unpleasant, it comes too late in the day to serve much dramatic purpose, and Joshua's actions are unusual in that he doesn't seek Max's help when we've been led to believe he would in pretty much any situation up to now. At the end of the day, the simple fact here is that there's not much going on bar making the newcomers a greater part of the main cast; the plot itself is weak and goes round in circles, filling out time by having Joshua captured and Max release him, and only the addition of a late-in-the-day twist to make we viewers think there may be something more substantial in the pipeline. This story just doesn't do much for me.
