Earth: Final Conflict: Pariahs

Sandoval attempts to make a deal with the Atavus, but discovers they are none too amenable. Meanwhile, the last remaining Taelon seeks help in destroying what has been created and Renee goes after proof of the Atavus's existence.

This is a show with no idea where to go. It's rearranged its premise again, but there's nothing left to do stories about. Judging by this there will be plotting, treachery and back-stabbing but nothing will ever come of it. Because if it does, the Atavus will be gone and the series will end. At least with the Taelons and Zo'or there was some subtlety, now it's kill or be killed and it seems it's come at the expense of having any plot ideas at all. Running around and being betrayed left, right and centre doesn't make for an exciting story, and all the characters who kept things interesting are gone except Sandoval. Now, he could be put to best use joining with Renee to fight the Atavus, but having his own agenda that he's working on in secret. Instead we find him yet again siding with the aliens, despite the fact that he always ends up being double crossed.

Also following the laws of stupidity, Renee makes the world's worst series of decisions in this episode. Firstly she approaches Hubble with news of new aliens, knowing he can't be trusted after his actions last season. Then she decides to go to the mothership to help Sandoval. Considering she's nearly killed him herself before now, you'd think she'd just leave him up there to rot. After all, everyone thought he was dead and no one seems to have had any desire to search for him for anything so far.

There are a couple of interesting ideas. Firstly neither Renee or Sandoval can be drained by the Atavus for some reason (presumably their contact with Taelon energy or something) and secondly there's the last Taelon wandering about. What I don't understand is how they can manage another 20 episodes out of this set-up. There are no Taelon experiments still going on, there's nothing to fight against except for a couple of Atavus who are now in space where they can't hurt anyone in a decaying ship. I'm not seeing how this can possibly trouble humanity. Send a bunch of missiles up and have done with it.
