Cade uses his deadness to visit a police station in disguise, hoping to acquirefiles proving his innocence in the death of his wife.
Cade searches for the Holy Grail in this episode, which wouldn't have been possible before now, as this time he's dead and so not under suspicion. That said, Cade seems to attract the attention of the police far quicker while wearing a disguise than he ever has in the past. This time, of course, he has Jordan to watch his back, who does her best trampish secretary impersonation to alleviate suspicion. Her pretend sex session with Cade is hilarious, especially bearing in mind Traci Lords' background and how often she's had to do much the same.
For a change, spotting the Gua is made easier by a watch seen in the teaser, but there is more than one in the police station and the second one is the surprise, even if he gives himself away rather stupidly. There's a fine sense of tension kept up through Cade being smack in the middle of a collection of cops, and he gets away with it a little too easily in places. The investigation proceeds carefully along with clues dropped throughout, but the revelation of what Cade has uncovered is a huge shock as we find he's acquired a selection of vital facts about the alien invasion force. At this stage in the game, Cade should noticeably be fighting back, and it's something of a disappointment that the end puts everything back to its usual status quo, with the aliens in charge and covering everything back up again. Keeping the files could have been the start of Cade's biggest fight as he sets out to destroy every alien he's uncovered. Backing off from this tack ends this story on a disappointing note.
