Using the first of the omega quatrains, Cade and Eddie set off into the woods where they find a downed Gua ship, something which Joshua is interested in as well.
A guest appearance from April Telek of The Immortal isn't really any more noteworthy than this episode itself. As the day of reckoning draws near with the Gua threatening to launch the second wave of their attack, investigating this downed ship seems to be the least of Cade and Eddie's problems. Telek plays a Gua pilot with no real personality or usefulness, serving as she does to seriously injure everyone except Eddie during the episode while inbetween being grumpy, snarling and bitchy. It's not so much a characterization as a caricature.
The point of the episode turns out to be Joshua. Cade saves his life, and it turns out that the downed craft contained a device ten times more powerful than a nuke that can wipe out huge sections of humanity. Joshua plans to use it make the humans think they're being invaded and shake them up a bit. As Cade points out, killing a few million of them in order to do this is over-egging the pudding somewhat. By the end of the story Joshua has learnt his lesson, Cade has been saved from a fatal injury and suddenly we have a three-man team, Joshua realizing that he should be helping Cade on Cade's terms. It's really way past time the alien became part of the regular cast, and it could have led to more interesting conflicts if it had happened sooner. However, this seems too little too late.
The storyline other than this is simple and weak, consisting of much running about after people in the forest and people telling each other that they're wrong. IT needs more action, more characters or more story to fill in the blanks.
