February 98.. wow.. I discovered the A.B.P.A.G newsgroup. What a fantastic place! It only took an hour of checking through the postings ... and I wanted to join in too! After that I got thoroughly absorbed in hunting for animations on the web, to post into the group. Such a friendly, helpful bunch of people. Major thanks to BikeJunkie who got me "hooked"; to Gene for being a tremendous supporter of newbie-work and to MaGòó for pointing me in the direction for animation programs. Within a few hours of touching an animation programme, I'd made my first gif. I still make a lot of mistakes, but I'm improving :)
