The Is can jump and land, and has no predators... Unless you count me.
Isz are among the most voracious creatures on S'mKiith. These small, white predators rarely pose a danger for anything human-sized or bigger when alone, but when hunting in packs will attack almost anything. Isz have been known to congregate in groups of hundreds or thousands given a sufficient food supply.
The Is begins life as a "seed," deposited in the huge breeding fields by enigmatic beings called the "seedbringers." The seed goes through several extremely vulnerable stages of development, during which time it is guarded by the giant Emwitabwe or "Walking Mountains." Once the Isz are mature, the fittest wander out to feed while thousands of their brothers begin an inexplicable suicide migration into the ocean. The origin and purpose of this process is unknown. In fact, very little is known about the Isz. Where they come from, how they reproduce, why the Emwitabwe defend them, these are all secrets that no explorer has yet uncovered.
Even among all these enigma, one peculiar trait stands out: the Isz have an extraordinarily strong tie to the Force. This, coupled with their towering stupidity, allows any Force-user to command them as willing slaves. The Isz also seem to use the Force to "see" the world around them; at least, this would explain their total lack of sensory organs.
A final note on Isz: deprived of the native S'mKiith air, Isz undergo a startling transformation. Their skin turns black, they grow faster and stronger, and their connection to the Force becomes more powerful. As a side effect of their heightened Force sensitivity, the Isz are smarter and more vicious outside of S'mKiith. Removing them from the planet is not recommended.
