Acting as the Government Liaison, Morgan Martin, and his wife Bess, are the only ones intending to land on G889 who don't have a personal stake in the Eden Project and its goals. Used to his creature comforts on the stations, Morgan doesn't adapt as readily as the others to the survivalist nature the expedition assumes after the crash. His self-serving attitude isn't helped by the fact that, when the advance ship began to fail, he took an escape pod without waiting for anyone else. Eager to escape the reality he's found himself in, Morgan retreats frequently into VR. Once in a while his better nature comes through, especially when his actions nearly ruin his marriage to his beloved Bess. However, it's not until he nearly destroys the tenuous relationship between the Humans and the Terrians that Morgan truly begins to change. Though he still longs for the comfort of his previous life, Morgan becomes more involved with helping Eden Advance make it to New Pacifica.
