Unknown to Earth at the time, the meteor was comprised of a strange mineral. A mineral which had an adverse reaction to the nuclear heat and radiation that it was subjected to. these resulting "mutagenic particles" were scattered all over the planet. The mutagenic particles inadvertantly caused the DNA of humans to evolve to the next level; that means developing superior abilities.
In mere decades, the population of "Evoes" numbered in the hundred thousands. A great Superior War was waged, as we were not prepared for the chaos that ensued. A team of heroes called "The Alliance" finally was able to put an end to the five year war. An energy was discovered that could nutralize the evolved DNA and subsequently the mutagenic particles. The newly elected commander of Earth ordered that the energy be unleashed on a global level. The weapon succeeded...the people of the world began to rebuild...and the Alliance was disbanded.
But as it happens, the evolution of life is inevitable. The mutagenic particles eventually adapted to the energy that nutralized it. The Evoes are appearing again just as they did almost a century before. The only difference is we are powerless to stop it. So here it is, the year 2107. The Mutant Restriction Act has been abolished and the Mutant Enforcement Commission disbanded as they can no longer be productive. the nations of the world must ask for heroes to combat the forces of chaos. This is where you come in.
