1-2 pds of Top Round Steak (you can use *Deer Steak for this)
1 onion (Finely chopped)
2 8oz. cans of Tomato Soup
1 tblsp of Olive Oil or Butter
1 8oz. cup of Sour Cream (Breakstone works best)
pinch of Paparika
pinch of Fresh Dill
pinch of Thyme
Fresh Mushrooms, roughly 1/2 pd.
Saute the onions and meat in the olive oil(better) or butter
Sprinkle some of the fresh dill and thyme into the meat/onion mixture and simmer for about 15 minutes.
After the meat/onion mixture is browned all over, then add the cans of tomato soup and mix well.
Heat everything on LOW heat for about 1-2 Hours. ( Sauce should be starting to thicken by now! If not then see bottom notes)
Add the Sour Cream & Paparika stir until all the Sour Cream is mixed in
Continue to heat on low, careful - the Sour Cream has a tendecy to burn easily
Wash and slice the mushrooms then saute them in a little of butter until the're just about done and add them to the sauce, they will cook the rest of the way very quickly
Serve over noodles or rice. I personally like rice better than noodles but you can use either!!
Notes:
If you are going to use Deer instead of Beef, you must soak the meat for at least 24 hours in a lightly salted water solution.
Don't forget to change the water after it has turned color.
Usually, I have to change the water twice, if not three times. If the sauce has not thicken by this time you can add either half a can of soup or half a can of tomato paste
Now enjoy with fresh broccoli with cheese sauce!!!!!!!!!
And don't forget to email your response to the address on the bottom of my page!!!!
