tip#1: you'll need a lot of tape. if you are going to be wrapping yourself up in tape, remember to buy much more than you think you'll need, since you will feel silly in half an outfit.
tip#2: you'll need some pantyhose. the trick i've discovered is that if you're going to be covering a good portion of yourself in electrical tape, you are not going to want to peel it all off, and you are not going to want to pull it off any body hair. however, if you cover yourself in pantyhose first, you can just cut the panythose & tape off of yourself when you're done! that way, it doesn't stick to you, and it is a fast, easy cleanup. if you want to cover more than just your legs, you can either get a body stocking or leotard, or just cut the legs and waistbands off some extra hose and put those on your arms, torso, etc. you won't be able to see it under the tape anyway. this is a good use for stockings with a run in them, by the way :)
tip#3: more pantyhose.you can get different effects with different pantyhose. for example, layers of hose or "control top" will be tighter and more form-fitting than something sheer or loose.
tip#4: don't stretch too tight.since electrical tape is very stretchy, be careful if you wrap it around yourself. what might feel comfortably snug at first might be very uncomfortable in ten minutes. keep in mind the length of time you'll be leaving the stuff on and the body part you are covering. for example, if you're going to be wearing it to a party, you're going to want a relatively loose wrapping, and you don't want to wrap your chest tightly - use common sense. besides, as long as there are no gaps in the tape, it should look as good whether tighter or looser.
tip#5: can you move? mummifying yourself and restricting movement definitely has its good points. but there are definite safety issues with that kind of play (there's a good article about it at www.bondage.com, under the title "Good Advice"). for example, if you are wrapping your legs together, you don't want your ankle bones rubbing against each other cause it gets a bit painful and annoying.
tip#6: be careful with those scissors.don't cut yourself when you snip through the tape after you're finished.
next time i make a good electrical tape outift, i will put a photo of it here to give you all some inspiration!
