Gerry's Music Collection

At least, what I'll admit to

The following represents my wide range of musical tastes. It is by no means a sum total of what I listen to, as I do not have the time, effort, or financial means to buy every album I like. Some of these are copies from friends (There's even two vinyl records in here!), but most are from my own CD collection or--depending how far back you go--cassette tapes.

There's plenty in here to be delighted and/or disgusted by. While your favorite group may not be in here, there's bound to be somthing in here you'd listen to.

These are sorted with some evidence of thought put into it. Not all things fall into a particular catagory, while others seem to belong to two or three. For the former, I put them where I thought they should most likely go. Some of the latters I have put in duplications if I felt it justified. If you disagree with my catagorization, you're more than welcome to mail me. I may or may not agree with you, and I may or may not take your advice. I make no promises. I just like getting mail.

There are, of course, some things even I won't admit to having. Those may get there own section at the bottom, or perhaps even their own page . . . MUCH later.

When possible, I have provided pointers to web pages devoted to the artist(s) in question. Often times there is more than one of these pages. Usually I will pick the one with the most information or the most pointers to other such pages. If I don't have a pointer to a specific group and you know such a page exists, tell me. (There's that getting mail thing again . . .)

I recently realized that my organization was different here than the way I've actually got it at home. So I've altered this page a bit to reflect that. The catagory of "Music To Stare At The Ceiling By" may require an explanation. In my old apartment, I had a large, glow-in-the-dark poster of the night sky on my living room ceiling. On the rest of the ceiling and part of the surrounding walls were those glowing stars you can buy at most any nature or specialty store. My (then) roommate and I then got a fluorescent blacklight bulb and attached it at the top of the blinds, just out of view. At night, we could turn on the bulb for a bit to charge up the cosmos, then turn it off for full effect. When friends came over, we would often set up blankets and pillows on the floor, turn off the lights, and relax for a bit (no, we were not on drugs). I, who wanted music in the background, would have to put in selections that wouldn't disturb the atmosphere. Thus the catagory came into being. Though I have moved since, I still enjoy listening to that music...

Many thanx to all the hard-working folks at Yahoo! for making portions of this page possible.

I wonder how many people have come across this page while I wasn't looking?

Oh. Thanx Web-Counter.
