Fredrick was raised in a one-parent household. His father left his mother as soon he sobered up and never saw her again. Luckily, his mother, Kristine Holte, decided it was her time for a family. She settled down and opened a school to teach animal style kung fu, calisthenics, and aerobics. It has struggled for 18 years but hasn't gone under yet. Growing up in a dojo, Fredrick learned the martial arts as a matter of course. He is a diligent student, and his mother trusts him enogh to let him teach some of the classes. Outside of his mother’s presence, he is a key member in the Streetfighters. The gang he leads is mostly composed of members of his dojo, but with three outliers. As they all have training in one or more animal forms, they call their group he Animal Style Artists or ASA for short. Due to the gang's large size and larger territory (the second largest Streetfighter territory in Night City), he is in a position of respect within Streetfighter subculture. He is a strong supporter for peace between schools, clarity of purpose, and maintenance of honor. Some say that his methods are a tad suspect, including a very devoted defense of territory, but no one doubts his motives.
        In person, Stonehands is quite charming. He jokes about his short stocky build and bald head (he shaves it every two days), and he is quick to laugh with others. He avoids drugs in all their forms and tries to keep others around him clean as well, but isn't militant about the recreational use prevalent in his neighborhood. His most recent interest is Zen archery which one of his mother’s employees is teaching him. All in all, he is a wonderful guy to know, provided you are honorable, responsible, and on his school’s turf with their permission; otherwise, start praying for mercy before he even sees you.
