SHAMAN
A WALKING FACTORY OF NANOTECH SURGEONS
^^All the evolved type we have seen so far are fast healers, but the Shaman, or RoboDoc as I like to call 'em, can use there healing powers to help the non-evolved or enhance the healing Nanotech of other evolved types. Not as flash as a Tinman but pretty useful to have around when the bullets start to fly.^^ ALT Source: Dr Margaret Tuere, CDC

General Lacolucci:
I am disappointed in the results you have been achieving so far in combating the spread of the carbon plague, out breaks of civil unrest, antigovernment propaganda and terrorism continue to be linked to the evolved menace.

Since your efforts have been failing we have decided to expand the test of our prototype counter measure out of the laboratory and in a larger test group. Dr R Daley tells me the trials on the Raptors you sent us showed excellent results. Unfortunately this means your 'volunteers' won't be able to return to active service. To avoid future losses I suggest you remove all Raptor units from the region of Night City within the next month.

He also informs me another new 'sport' has appeared, is there no end to these creatures? It appears to be a much simpler type than the others, a genetic throwback if you like. Its only ability appears to be accelerated healing, since most evolved types have this ability anyway I don't think they are much of a worry, tactically speaking.

They are however interesting from a scientific view point. Could these actually one of the first steps in the evolution of the nanotech, we just have not discovered them until now? or perhaps it shows the nanotech virus is evolving randomly, not creating better and stronger models as we had feared. If we could some how form a sort of 'genetic family tree' of the evolve creatures we might be able to discover the root cause.

Game Mechanic : The ability of a Shaman is know as Healing. By laying there hands on a non-evolved person they can give them the healing abilities the same as the evolved, contact needs to be maintained for 10 minutes on two occasions. Once to deliver the nanites, a second time to pick them up. The shaman can heal a number of people equal to his Healing skill using this method. The person is also exposed to the Carbon Plague, but they are an adult they do not run the risk of dying from it.

They can also enchance the healing ability of evolved including themselves, by rolling Healing +d10 vs a target number equal to the wound level, they can instantly heal a number of boxes equal to the what they made the roll by. The Shaman's own healing is normally at twice the speed of most evolved types. If they use the same method of healing as with non-evolved on with other evolved they can pass this benifit on.

What is not commonly know is the Shaman can also use his nanotech surgeons to do harm, if a shaman lands a blow on a target it may roll Healing +d10 with a Target Number equal to the victims Body+Resist Torture/Drugs. If the successful Nanotech 'Assassin' Surgeons are released into the targets blood, they cause massive internal bleeding, leading to death within 1d6 turns.

The Shaman realeases nearly there full load of nanotech in an attack like this they may only do it once then they must wait for their hexite colonies to rebuild (this take 1d4 weeks) and until that time is up they have NO evolved abilities (including the standard ones) at all.

Shaman also receive +1 REF, +1 Body and +1 EMP. The Shaman must consume 5% of his body in kg per day or lose all their abilities.

Additional Plot Ideas: There is no reason that when reaching high levels in the skill Healing the Shaman, cannot vary the effects of his 'Assassin' Nanites to cause only short term paralysis, or other effects.

What is the 'prototype counter measure' the CDC have planned? How could it effect the player? Will they raid the CDC to discover there secrets? Or be caught in the test zone and suffer the effects?

Shaman evolved gain +1 EMP, and they all appear to be more caring, and protective towards others and themselves, than before they evolved. Is the Carbon Plague seems using personality modification, perhaps to build a better human socially as well as physically? Or perhaps it is just a coincedence? What would happen if a Mega-violent or Goth became a Shaman, how would their 'world-view' change?
