After quite a hiatus, I've returned to continue "The Continuing Voyages..." where I left off. So with out further ado, I will start the second season of "TCV..."
In "The Child" the Enterprise delivers a strain of plasma plague to Science Station Tango Sierra where doctors have been working to combat the deadly and mutating virus.
Combat Plasma Plague
Science Station Tango Sierra: Assist scientists on this Federation station to help combat an outbreak of plasma plague.
Biology x2 + SCIENCE + Physics
35 points, span 3
The Federation are quite obviously going to be the first choice of affiliations for almost any mission since they did most of them in the show. But here I used logic obtained in the episode "Suspicions" about other affiliations who have collaborated with Starfleet for scientific research. So the Klingons and Ferengi would assist in finding a cure to the plague as well. Two biology are required because this research takes more knowledge of physiology than a simple MEDICAL would be able to provide. SCIENCE is to assist with the research using the scientific method (I suppose that's a bit of a stretch.) And Physics was tacked on the end arbitrarily because at the time I was thinking along the lines of Plasma fires and Plasma torpedoes when actually I believe it is referring to blood plasma, but Physics can't hurt either so I left it. While this mission may look ripe for the picking as far as AMS is concerned the Klingons do better with their new BoG universal Biology specialist: Zetal and Kromm (for Physics). The Feds can only get ten extra points out of it because while the Federation has plenty of Physics specialists it's only Biology specialist, Alyssa Ogowa (premiere), is unique. This fits well in a Klingon deck along side their many other Biology missions: A Good Place to Die, Fever Emergency, Investigate Disturbance, Medical Relief, and Plague Planet. We'll just have to see how well the Ferengi can do but their off to a good start with Biology on Jake and Nog ;)
