Just in time for the debut of the new Decipher Dream Card board, The Continuing Voyages... is ready to debut it's third season. Starting off with "The Ensigns of Command" and a very strategy intense mission. In this episode the Enterprise has to evacuate the colonists from Tau Cygna V, descendents from a colony ship that crashed on the inhospitable planet years ago. Only Data can survive the hyperonic radiation on the planet which also prevents transporters from functioning. To top their troubles off, the Sheliak will arrive in three days to colonize the planet, eradicating anyone left on the surface.
Evacuation: Impossible Tau Cygna V: Evacuate stubborn colonists by shuttle, transporter miracle, or legal loophole in three days.
Landed ship + Android + hand weapon + Law + Transporter Skill x2
(Your side): Must seed Hyperonic Radiation here.
(Opponet's side): You may seed The Sheliak face up at far end of spaceline targeting this planet.
50 points, span 4
The Federation being the affiliation in the show who accomplished this feat have first dibs at evacuating their colonists. The Romulans and Bajorans are added for good measure, having plenty of landable ships available to them is helpful and androids can always come from the Non-aligned contingent, who can attempt this by themselves anyway making this 50 pointer really available to anyone. Now this mission is certainly worth those points for the steep requirements you have to pull off in order to discover a way to evacuate those colonists. The first angle is the one Data was responsible for on the episode. He (an android) landed a shuttle (Landed ship) and destroyed the aqueduct with his phaser (hand weapon). The second angle was La Forge and O'Brien's attempt to find a way to beam through the radiation (Transporter Skill x2). And the third and final angle was Picard and Troi's digging into the treaty (Law) to find the loophole that brought the hibernating Grisella into the matter. I decided to make all three angles requirements (rather than using a slew of ORs) because the crew had to explore all of the options not just rely on one of them. The special text requires that hyperonic radiation (a nasty incident posted on the Dream Card site) be seeded at this location. This shouldn't be too much trouble considering that you will be using an android and landed ship anyway. Also for theme's sake, to simulate the time constraints, your opponent's Sheliak can start off from the beginning with the destruction of Tau Cygna V so be sure to stock a Temporal Vortex or two to slow them down. With all of this stacked against you this mission truely does live up to it's name, Evacuation: Impossible.
