The Continuing Voyages... #54

When surveying Galorndon Core Geordi La Forge finds hiself trapped on the planet with "The Enemy": a young centurioun by the name Bochra. Meanwhile in orbit Dr. Crusher fights to save "The Enemy": an injured Romulan pilot by the name Patahk. Over the communications channels Captain Picard negotiates with "The Enemy": a Romulan commander by the name Tomalak intent on crossing the Neutral Zone to retrieve his officers.

Stand-Off
Neutral Zone Region * Edge of Neutral Zone:
Diplomacy x3 + OFFICER + Law + (INTEGRITY + CUNNING + STRENGTH > 100) OR Jean-Luc Picard OR any Tomalak

35 points, span 3

The Romulans and the Federation are the only ones who have any thing to do with the Neutral Zone so they are the listed affiliations. The skill requirements are standard for a confrontation at the Neutral Zone. Diplomacy in spades to negotiate the release of Patahk, or the removal of a warbird from the Neutral Zone. An OFFICER is generally going to be the captain of the ship representing his or her government from the command chair. Law will be needed to discuss the nitty gritty of Neutral Zone violations. The combined attribute totals of more than a hundred is pretty demanding, but the two crews both had to pull on all of their reserves to be able to face off "The Enemy." As we've frequently seen, some of our favorite characters can muster up the ability to slide around a mission that it could take several other personnel to accomplish. In this case, Picard represents the Federation, adding another use to the already powerful captain of the Enterprise. Any Tomalak will do the job from the green side of the Zone, that being the original set version or his AU counterpart, Commander Tomalak, bringing vitality to these nearly binder-fodder personnel, either of whom could both report to your ship using Assign Support Personnel. The points are pretty hefty for the single personnel, and perhaps a bit low for the alternate, skill- and attribute-heavy option.

Thanks,

Captain Targ
