This is a micrograph (optical Nomarski interference contrast)
of spots of gold deposited onto an indium phosphide
substrate, using a KrF excimer laser, and
trimethylgold-trimethylphosphine as the gold precursor.

The gold spots are 100 microns across.
This was a very pure gold deposit indeed.
