Spaghetti Sauce & Meatballs

Sauce
1 large onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
3-4 bay leaves
2 tablespoons oregano 
2 tablespoons basil 
2 tablespoons salt 
2 tablespoons sugar 
2, 12 ounce cans tomato paste 
4, 24 ounce cans tomato puree 
2, 24 ounce cans whole tomatoes 
olive oil

Pour olive oil in the bottom of large pot - enough to cover bottom (about 1/4 inch deep).
Add onions, garlic, and green pepper.  Lightly brown. 
Add all tomato ingredients. Stir well. 
Add all other ingredients. Stir well.
Add approximately 24 ounces of water.  Simmer at least 5 hours. 
(The longer it cooks the better)

Meatballs
1 pound hamburger
4 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon oregeno
1 teaspoon basil
1-1/2 cups bread crumbs
1 cup parmesan cheese
olive or vegetable oil (cover bottom of frying pan about 1 inch deep)

Mix all ingredients except oil. 
Form into small balls. 
Fry in oil until cooked.
