The Cluttered Desk

The real essence of writing isn't research; it's what you understand, what you know. It's something much deeper. But that doesn't mean a little bit of research isn't necessary. The WWW has a treasure trove of resources -- take your fill!

On-Line Literary Research Tools
A list of other resources -- all categorized by subject.

Writer's Resource Center
John Hewitt maintains this page; he's got some pretty nice articles on writing. Some of his own and some from others. There are also some resources, such as publishers, organizations and the likes. A general page worth a visit for any writer.

Writer's Resource Page
A very nice, comprehensive page for writers. Lots of general and specific information that may be useful. And its very impressive Historical Research page is a favorite of mine.

The BookWire Index
A list of websites dedicated to authors; official and unofficial.

Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America
Founded in 1965. It may have been restricted only to American members then, but they do have some "goodies" (articles, resources, tips) for a non-member writer.

Introduction to Fantasy
A personal page about fantasy. Johnathan Fesmire has given a few view about the aspects of fantasy.. He has some personal writings up and some links.

Welcome to The Encyclopedia Mystica
"An Encyclopedia On Mytholgoy, Folklore, Mysticism, and MORE.." As far as I know, this is a voluntarily compiled encyclopedia. Experts (or some enthusiasts) from all over have submitted their articles.. It's still growing and worth a look. Bibliographies are also given.
