Our? Family Tree

I am digging for the roots of my family tree:
I need to know who has preceded me!
Then I will climb way out into the branches;
I may find a nut, but I'll take my chances!

Perhaps I will find a doctor to examine my head;
Why should I care who my 5th cousin has wed?
Either he is lost or he is hiding somewhere,
And has no idea that someone might care.

My G. Grandfather's cousin married my G. Grandfather's niece;
Believe me, that created a whole new kind of puzzle piece!
His G. Grandson is my 4th cousin through his father's line,
But, he is also my son's 4th cousin at the very same time!

My G. Grandfather's cousin,* we are all searching for,
He must have left at least one track-----or more?
His Great Grandson, we "think" we have met, you see;
Or am I just barking up the wrong family tree?

This may not make "census" to most of you out there,
But far enough back, we are all related, I swear!
That guy who built the Ark-I'm related to him;
Even, if all we have in common, is not liking to swim!
