FLEET MARINE  FORCE - PACIFIC
" ENEMY DOG HUNTER PATCH"

The patch pictured above was issued to MAJOR ROBERT KILLORAN, USMC
during World War II. MAJOR KILLORAN was stationed through out the Pacific
Islands, including the islands of Guam, Bouganville and Guadalcanal.
(Per his family recollections).
Major Killoran was one of the dog handlers. They were used to sniff out the
enemy, hiding in caves and tunnels found throughout the islands. The dogs
have been honored by the War Dog Monument on Guam.
Major Killoran believed, less than 20 of these patches may have survived combat.
Major Killoran lived in the eastern part of the United States, until he passed away
November 1997.
Before he passed away, he gave this patch to another Marine, Michael (last name
withheld for family privacy), who had the privilege to share his life with two
Dobermans, Dylan and Mocha.

Dylan and Mocha are pictured below.

Thank you to Michael and Bev for letting Doberworld-l share this likeness
with all in the Doberman Community.

A picture of the patch will be on display at the '98 Nationals....be sure to
check the War Dog Memorial in the Archive Room.
