Peace, Love, &; Blessings to you!Welcome to my website about the Essenes and living the Essene way of life today. The Essenes are thought to have been a very ancient sect of Judaism, separate from other Jewish sects, such as the Pharisees & Sadducees at the time of Christ. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph were Nazareans, from the northern branch of the Essene sect (a different, southern branch of Essenes wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls). Ancient historians, Josephus, Philo, and Pliny all give interesting and descriptive accounts of Essenes. More recent scholars, namely Rev. Gideon Ouseley, and Dr. Edmond Bordeaux Szekely, have translated forgotten ancient Essene Gospels and texts; and given us insight into ancient Essene beliefs and their everyday lives. After studying all these wonderful resources, and many other related ones, such as the Nag Hammadi texts, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Edgar Cayce's readings on the Essenes; & many others...it is no wonder that the portrait of Jesus, the Christ, is one of "Messiah/Savior." His Truthful Teachings and His Heart Full of Unconditional Love for ALL will inspire many of us to reach our highest potential. Y'shua(Jesus) truly wanted us to love one another, and not just our fellow humans, but all living creatures. The Nazareans did not believe in, nor participated in the Judaic practice of animal sacrifice during Passover, or at ANY time. The Nazareans did not condone the slaughter of animals & were vegetarian. It is little wonder that Y'shua drove away all those who "sold" in the Temple--for the sale of sacrificial animals was a lucretive business there shortly before Passover(Luke 19:45)...coincidently, this happened not long before His arrest, and subsequent crucifixion...Another excellent web site to learn more in depth about the Essene Nazareans is: www.essene.com/ |
