Finally, he was safely out. Now the snails themselves began disassembling and one by one, they climbed out as well. This process was time consuming and the frog wanted to help but there was nothing for him to do except thank each snail as it emerged from the hole.

"Thanks for all your help," he said. "I hope no one was hurt from being stepped on."

"No problem. Never been better. Glad to help," they replied. Though he was anxious to get home, he waited until the last snail got out, and thanked it with just as much enthusiasm as he gave the others.
