1 | Tbsp | Corn Starch | |
2 | Tbsp | Water | Cold |
1 | pinch | Baking soda | |
1/2 | cup | Water | Boiling |

Dissolve cornstarch in cold water in a saucepan. Add boiling water. Boil, stirring until clear and thickened. Let stand until cold. With mixer on high speed, beat egg whites until hard.. Gradually, add sugar. Beat until stiff but not dry. Turn mixer to low speed. Add soda and vanilla. Gradually, beat in cold cornstarch mixture. Raise mixer again to high speed and beat well. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
