WHY OUR HOME PAGE IS HERE INSTEAD OF OUR PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT
We decided to put our home page on "neutral" cyberspace because
our opinions and philosophy may not necessarily reflect our department or
the University of Missouri. We are also committed to judicious use of the
public sector's money, and in our hearts, we couldn't justify devoting a
bunch of space to golf at the taxpayers' expense!
Besides, the GeoPages "homesteading" philosophy is in keeping
with both our family spirits (Mitch's family immigrated from Eastern Europe
in the 1880's; Maria's family came from the classic "Virginia to Kentucky
to Missouri" route to northern Missouri in the 1830's). Our ancestors
would be proud.
