When God gave His creation freewill then the door was open for bad things to happen. Freewill is a good thing. It allows us to greatly enjoy God's love because our love towards God is a voluntary response. However, freewill has a downside. There are those who abuse it and do awful things. This causes bad things to happen to people who don't deserve such treatment. We can take solace in this truth, though:
