The whole point of being saved is to have a personal relationship with God as part of His family. This relationship involves two way communication. God desires to speak to each of His people in a way that we understand. He often speaks in a still
small voice that we "hear" in our spirits but echos in our souls (minds).
In this way God tells us that He accepts us and loves us. He teaches us and corrects us. He brings scripture alive with revelation.
I'll give an example: The morning after my daughter was born, I was sitting quietly before the Lord. I sensed that He said "I have gifted her greatly." I was, of course, very pleased to hear this. I started to get prideful, however, and started to ask "Is it because I ..." I immediately sensed the Lord reply something to the effect: "It has nothing to do with you. I have given her gifts because it pleases me."
Do you realize how freeing was this message? Whenever I am delighted with my daughter (which happens quite often), I don't have to deal with my pride. Instead I can say "Thank you, Lord. You have done a marvelous thing when you put her together" -- and every now and then, I sense the Lord reply "Now you know how I feel about you."
Sometimes I sense that the Lord wants me to write down and tell others a message that He wants to communicate. I do my best to record these accurately, although I know that some "of me" creeps in. Click below to see some of these prophetic words.
