The
General Instructions of the Roman Missal (GIRM) to promote devotion
during Mass asks the following:
- A deep bow (front the waist) during the Profession of Faith at
the words "By the power of the Holy Spirit He was born of the Virgin
Mary" (A deep bow is also made when entering the church if you cannot
genuflect at the Blessed Sacrament).
- A bow of the head just before receiving Communion under the form
of both the bread and the wine (Make the bow when the person ahead of
you is receiving Communion).
- At the invitation of the priest "Pray brethren that our sacrifice
may be acceptable...", the congregation stands immediately as they
respond "May the Lord accept the sacrifice..."
- Stand from the "Our Father" until the last person has received
Communion. You may briefly kneel in your pew after Communion.
