Looking north at the south-facing front of the house.

The magnificent oak tree on the left is actually on my neighbor's property. The property line is at an angle to the street, and my lot widens toward the back.

The original house plan called for the gable over garage to continue over the door, which would have created a low porch ceiling. I decided to end the gable flush with the garage wall to allow for the transom window over the front door. The window lets lots of light into what would otherwise be a dark entry hall.

Notice the single garage door at the far right. It's a drive-through garage! You'll see the back door in later pictures.
