Weddings

Archwood UCC and the pastor gladly offer wedding services for both traditional and same-gender couples in our beautiful, historic landmark sanctuary or off-site.  We are proud to be part of the United Church of Christ which considers the covenant vows of all couples to be equal.

Using the Church:

A $50 deposit for the church is necessary for a date to written on the calendar.  This deposit may be returned if the ceremony is cancelled within two weeks of receiving it; otherwise, if the ceremony is cancelled, the deposit is not refunded.  The deposit may be refunded if the following conditions are met:  all appointments have been kept and have been on time; the rehearsal lasts no more than one hour from the agreed upon time of start; the ceremony begins within 15 minutes of agreed start; the wedding party is out no later than one hour after the ceremony ends; and if no cleaning is needed.  If any of these conditions are not met, the initial deposit will not be refunded.

Fees:

Use of the Sanctuary:  $250 (members $200) in addition to the deposit

Sound Technician: $25 (plus tip).  If you wish to play CDs, you must have a sound tech.

You may supply your own musician (piano; we do not have a usable organ), if that is desired.  A dressing area for the bridal party is available for your use.

The Pastor:

Our pastor gladly works with couples from all backgrounds. “I have been doing ceremonies for more than 15 years with all kinds of couples - from a wide variety of spiritual backgrounds or none.  I strive to work with each couple so that the ceremony reflects their personality and values.  I am very flexible.  My concern - and goal - is that it is meaningful for you.”

Services as Officiant:     $250 (members $200). 

If off-site, outside of Cuyahoga County a travel fee of $25/hour is required.

Pre-marital counseling is offered but not required for non-members.
