Biography
I was born Diane Marie Scandura in Pomona, CA in 1968. I grew up in
Ontario and Upland,California.
After graduating Upland
High School in 1986, I went to college at The
University of California, San Diego with a major in Applied Math/Scientific
Programming. In my second year at UCSD, I met Dave at a bible talk on campus.
I went to the bible talk because I didn't know how to read the bible and
get anything out of it, and I wanted to learn how. Dave had already become
a christian, and I became one several months later(March 1988). It has
totally impacted our lives to live by the standards of the bible
and to have a true purpose for our lives. We both moved up to Los Angeles
after graduating (Dave in '89, me in '90) because of the jobs we were offered.
I got a position as a systems engineer at Hughes
Aircraft Company building computer
simulations doing communications
analysis of the Tactical Internet. Hughes sponsored my graduate program at California
State University, Long Beach so that I could get my master's degree
in Applied Mathematics. In January 1995, I accepted a second job (my fun
job) teaching math at Rio
Hondo College. I love making math fun for people (see my math
page). I have also taught at Cerritos College. At the end of 1997 I quit my job at Hughes and started teaching Quantitative Methods at DeVry Institute of Technology.
Upon moving to L.A., Dave and I became members of the Los
Angeles International Church of Christ. It wasn't until we moved
to L.A. that we started liking each other, after 3 years of just being
friends! We got married in August 1992, and marriage
in God's Kingdom has been awesome! In August of 1998 the greatest miracle happened in our lives, we experienced the birth of our first child, Monica Ann Ford.If you would like to visit our church,

me to confirm this location since we don't always meet there)

Romance
Would you like some more spice in your love life? I highly recommend
the book,1001 Ways to be Romantic by
Gregory Godek. I have given it to dozens of my bachelor friends about to
get married or pursuing marriage, and of course it has been tremendously
helpful in my own marriage.
