The Family of

Warner G. and Cindy Sue Eiben

Warner G. McLemore (more commonly called Mick) was born September 4, 1949, in Knoxville, Tennessee.  When Warner was two years old, his parents, William R. and Hettie T. McLemore, moved the family to a farm near Anderson, Indiana.

The family moved into Anderson and resided at 1815 W. 22nd Street.  Mick attended first through third grade at Westvale Grade School, located a few blocks from the family home.  During this time, William and Hettie divorced.

Hettie remarried, during the fall of 1958, to Clarence Herman Eiben, of RR2, Ashkum, Illinois.  The family, including Hettie's four youngest children (Peggy, Linda, Mick, and Christina) moved to Ashkum in September 1958.

Mick attended Ashkum Grade School, Clifton Central Junior High School, and Clifton Central High School.  Mick graduated in 1967.

During junior high and high school, Mick worked for neighboring farmers and as a beekeeper for Peter Hansen of Hansen Honey Company, of Ashkum, Illinois.  He later was employed at Gould Battery Company in Kankakee.

In January 1968, Mick entered Illinois State University, which he attended until January 1969.  On January 19, 1969, Mick married Darlene M. Pinson, of Clifton, Illinois.

Mick was married to Darlene until August 12, 1974.  During this time, two children were born:

Name                    Date of Birth

Gregory Keith        05-31-1969

Amy Jo                 05-02-1974

Also during this time, Mick served in the U.S. Army.  Mick was inducted into the Army July 10, 1969.  After completing training at Ft. Benning, Georgia, and Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, Mick was stationed in Viet Nam from December 4, 1969 until February 17, 1971.  Mick achieved the rank of Specialist Five, E-5, while serving with HHC, USARV Special Troops.

After being discharged from the Army in February 1971, Mick returned to work at Armstrong Cork Company in Bradley, Illinois.  In 1973, Mick returned to ISU.  However, in early 1974, after being separated from Darlene when she moved to Gardner, Illinois, Mick dropped out of school and worked at Steak 'n Shake and Modine Mfg. in Bloomington

Cindy Sue Walker was born October 28, 1955, in Bloomington, Illinois.  Cindy's family resided in Colfax, Illinois, where Cindy attended Octavia Grade School and Octavia High School.

Cindy's mother, Lorena, was an assistant leader of girl scouts, so Cindy attended numerous activities and trips (such as to New York and Washington, D.C.) with the scout group.

Cindy also participated in 4-H and attended numerous fairs, including the Illinois State Fair, where she exhibited various projects.

While attending high school, Cindy worked as a waitress at Wiener's Drive In Colfax.

After graduation in 1973, Cindy moved to Bloomington with two Colfax girls, Denise Sweet and Linda Thompson, where she worked as a waitress at Sambo's Restaurant.

While Cindy was working as a waitress at Sambo's, she and Mick met.  On December 21, 1974, the two were married.

The couple resided on a farm near Colfax for about a year, and then they moved to 1508 Woods Avenue, Normal, Illinois.  The couple resided in Normal until Mick graduated from ISU in 1977 and accepted a teaching position in Tuscola, Illinois.

Upon moving to Tuscola, Mick taught English at Tuscola Community High School, and Cindy worked as a waitress, first at Tuscola  Dixie Trucker's Home and later at Clarence's Sandwich Shop.

The couple became the parents of two daughters:

Sarah Lorraine       11-13-1979

Sandra Kay           04-24-1983

While the children were too young to attend school, Cindy stayed at home with them.  During this time, Mick taught at TCHS and painted during the summers, and Cindy babysat with Brittany and Beau Wilson, children of Diana Wilson.  When Sandy started pre-school, Cindy returned to work.  She started working at Hardee's of Tuscola, where she worked until 1999.  In 1999, Cindy left Hardee’s and began working at Sav-Mor Pharmacy as a sales clerk and Pharmacy Technician where she is employed today.  Mick continues to teach at TCHS and also teaches English and computer classes at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois.
