Indicator Solution Experiment

How to make purple indicator solution:

You will need: A head of purple cabbage.
Something to chop the cabbage with (be careful).
                A strainer.
                Water.
                Blender.
                Container.

Directions: Chop one half of the purple cabbage into small pieces.
Put the chopped cabbage into the blender.
Pour in water until the cabbage is covered.
Blend until the water is very purple.
Pour the mixture through the strainer into your container.
Your indicator solution is ready to use.

Keep the indicator solution in the refrigerator, otherwise
your solution will spoil after a few days. (It smells!)

You can find out if something is an acid or a base with this juice. For example: Vinegar makes this stuff turn red, vinegar is an acid. Baking soda makes it turn blue, baking soda is a base.
You can experiment with your indicator solution by mixing different things you find in the kitchen with a little indicator.
