Bereaved
It is not a normal thing for me to write a poem about a situation I know so little about. Heck, I don't think I've ever really met someone like this. However, one night I started to think about what it would be like to lose the woman I loved most...someone I had pledged my entire life to. I personally hope that I can die alongside the woman who will be my wife...but sometimes God has other ideas.
Bereaved
Her hand is cold to the touch,
I can no longer warm it.
I look at my desire,
And see she is dead.
The one to love me,
The one to care.
She is gone,
I have no words to voice the pain,
My heart grieves for the loss.
But I cannot find tears.
These days I grow tired.
I want no more.
I want only you.
You are gone.
Can I live through life without you?
Can I live another day
Without your smile to light it?
At the thought, I cry.
Do not leave me here alone
Without you.
Joy is gone.
