Are You Listening? Can You Hear Me?
This particular poem is of a somewhat familiar type. "Fear No More, I Will Protect" was my first attempt at writing a poem like this, with the first letter of every line being a part of the title. But I seem to have somewhat of a knack for it...
Are you listening? Can You Hear Me?
A life of never-ending torment,
Revealed to your unseeing eyes.
Everywhere you turn you see duress,
You see through the evil's disguise.
Others look at your tenderness and laugh,
Unknowing, they hurt you.
Little do they know the pain,
Instead they dig the knife in.
Still grabbing to hope, you scream,
Tender words your soul would win.
Every bitter word that hits you digs deep,
Never returning the hurt,
Instead giving love,
Never showing them hate,
Giving them love undeserved.
Can anyone show you the love you give them?
A simple hello would do.
None give you shelter,
Yet you keep your love true.
Open to me your heart,
Unending love will I give to you.
Hear these words I speak to you,
Every tear you've shed I've felt.
And every time you've fallen, I've picked you
up.
Remember the love that makes the heart melt.
Mine will cover you.
End this pain.
