"Grand Whippersnipper Say"
--by Trisket (aka Joshua D. Smith)--
Once upon a grand old time,
When all was dark and grey,
Three words came floating on my back,
"Grand Whippersnipper Say"
I shall never know why they came,
Or what they really meant.
All I know, when they hit my back,
Is that the cord on my jacket bent.
Oh what could be the meaning,
Of those three annoying words?
"Grand Whippersnipper Say,"
It says, then whistles at the birds.
I wandered far and wandered near,
To make their meaning clear.
But whenever I would utter those words,
No one would come near.
"Grand Whippersnipper Say,"
Whatever could it mean?
Is it a magic incantation,
Or a way to get laundry clean?
Oh I wish I had never heard,
"Grand Whippersnipper Say."
I oh would pay anything,
Not to have lived that day.
For now as I sit here typing,
I cannot but honestly say,
That my tongue is always flapping:
"Grand Whippersnipper Say"
I do not know why now,
I writing you this junk,
Because everything I'm saying,
Is complete and total bunk.
Who ever thought that they,
Would ever honestly say,
On any average day,
"Grand Whippersnipper Say?"
