Loneliness, Dying Souls
This is a poem I wrote in an attempt to put to words many of the emotions that I have felt, many caused by a life of bitterness lived before I was finally saved by Christ. The format is a bit wierd, and the title itself is extremely strange, but bear with me on this one...
Loneliness, Dying Souls
Long hours you sit, the tears run deep
O'er eyes that cloud with pain.
Never earned, always present,
Ever willing to cast the blame.
Life, alone, alone, alone,
In fear of company you hide,
Near places of solitude that hem you in.
Enduring flames of bitterness,
Searing your soul,
Stealing your love.
Death flies near,
You cringe, attempting to hide,
In spite of your attempts he finds you,
No escape, pain, death.
Give nothing, take all,
Soon it leaves you empty.
Only one way to escape,
Unknown to you.
Love never finds you.
Stopped by the unyielding heart.
