Summer Day
Can you believe it? A HAPPY poem from Josh! I was in a particularly good mood when I wrote this, which was surprising considering the circumstances. In the summer of 1997, there was a disasterous flood that hit the middle of Colorado, and I happened to be in the middle of it, with a large group of high-school youth from around the country, about 3500 in all. Luckily none were injured, killed, or anything. A natural disaster basically just went right past us, only inconviencing us. What a proof of God's grace and care, though!
Summer Day
The soft summer day
Plays with the skin,
Bringing new hope,
Holds it within.
The laughs of a child
Brings forth a smile,
Showing to others what
You've known all the while.
The soft summer day
Brings forth its light,
And warms the heart,
And sets it alight.
It burns with hope,
It burns with love,
Making you wonder
What lies above.
