Waiting
This poem is much like the poem "Lost," but of a different sentiment. I unkowingly wrote the two together, to discover later what I had done. This particular poem looks at the tragic nature of one woman's life, and the man who loves her into change. All too often this ends up not being a reality. Patience is a lost virtue, I guess.
Waiting
A silence fills the void.
The lover waits for his beloved.
A time unending passes.
His patience, never ending.
He waits.
She lies.
Their love was once true.
He was always there.
She was impatient.
She couldn't give her all.
Still, he waits.
She cries.
Her impatience has bound her.
His love knows all.
He stands aside,
As she dances before other men.
Still, he waits.
She's dying.
She never sees his outstretched hand.
At the bottom of a pit she lies.
Her blind eyes see nothing.
He offers her riches she denies.
Still, he waits.
She's learning.
The past comes back to her.
She flys to her lover's arms.
He holds her, heals her.
The past is forgotten.
The waiting is over.
She's saved.
