Having an active interest in social and cultural elements distinct to the United States, I have endeavored to create a schedule which allows me to concentrate study on the history of American culture while still allowing me to learn about other cultures academically. (Over the next two years, I must also complete my physical education requirement).

Alternate Course Schedule for Senior Year
Because, naturally, all courses may not be available to me, some flexibility must be built into the schedule. Not only can courses be substituted for one another, but I have an alternate schedule for senior year that allows me to take courses with substantially similar content even if, for example, I must take a different seminar.

PHIL 381 PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE | 4 | HIST 325 AGE OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION | 4 |
HIST 442 RELIGION AND POLITICS IN AMERICAN HISTORY | 4 | HIST 286 STATE AND SOCIETY IN THE IRON CENTURY | 4 |
My preferred alternate seminars, for example, are HIST 521 SEMINAR IN AMERICAN CULTURAL STUDIES (4 credits fall semester) or HIST 421 CULTURAL STRATIFICATION IN HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE (4 credits spring semester). Alternate electives might include one of these:
