This twisted fairy tale, as interpreted loosely by Grampa (played by Peter Falk, known for Columbo) is one of my favourite movies of all time. I think I've seen it about forty or fifty times.
What is so enthralling about this movie? Why have I practically memorized it? Why do people throw things at me when I suggest we watch it again? Well, let me get started. First, I love how much fun each and every actor seems to have with their character, and when I watch the movie I like to impersonate each character. I know, I'm the kind of person you want to kill when you watch videos, right?

All in all the characters are funny, and there is enough schlepping to make a dozen funny movies, all rolled in to one. The one liners are magnificent. I suspect that a lot of the script got ad-libbed, because most of the best lines in the movie aren't in the closed-captions, which probably stick closer to the original screenplay.
At least two of the cast have passed on since the making of this film, notably Peter Cooke, and Andre the Giant. A tip of the hat to these men who made us laugh.
