Helen Hobbs Jordan who grew up in Topeka, Kansas, received her Bachelor of Music from Washburn University and her Master and Doctoral degrees from Columbia University Teachers College. She also did an extensive amount of graduate work in Juliard School Of Music and many European schools. After some years as a concert violinist, she taught at Juliard School Of Music, Columbia Univerisity and American Theater Wing. She opened her school of professional musicianship, Helen Jordan Music Institute, in 1950, instantly attracting a number of famous performers. Helen Jordan is an author of a series of music textbooks and workbooks, and specializes in teaching musicianship to professionals. |
